Usually when a car is making a knocking noise it is a very bad thing, which usually leads to engine failure and throwing a rod. I've had this same problem with my intrepid and was able to fix this by replacing a worn bearing on the crank. This is a deep engine job so make sure you keep track of your parts and do it safe and plan to spend 4+ hours on it.
A other small child
have you tried higher octane fuel?
Change you top strut nut.
Could be a rod knock. Your bearings slipping in the engine.
Mine was making a knocking sound and I filled it up with premium gas. Sounds crazy but it actually stopped the valves from chattering. Might try it on your next fill up. 93 Octane.
i would check right rear axle if it is 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive or rear wheel drive. She may also have broken belt in tire. you may check wheel bearing or lug nuts for tightness.
If it only happens when backing up, you may have the parking brake engaged.
A loud knocking noise in the motor of a car at high speeds is most likely the engine. There could be another issue with the transmission if the knocking only happens at high speeds.
most probably piston slap or little ends
it makes a knocking sound when u turn the wheels.
it all depends on the loudness and where the sound is coming from, it can range from a loose bolt to bad connecting rod bearings
A knocking sound while your car is moving is probably coming from the engine. A certified mechanic will be able to perform diagnostic testing.
