I had the same noise on my 95 Jimmy and it was caused by the hood bolts being worn. Sounds strange but when I replaced them it quit. Sounded like a hammer hitting the front end everytime I hit a bump. Hey i have no idea what the noise is but i have it too i cant find what it is so if you could help me too lol

After putting up with the same noise for about a week I researched online and found a suggestion that worked! Change the filters! That's it! That's all it was!
With out hearing it, It is hard to say whats wrong. But the most common noise like that would probley be a ROD knocking. Time for engine overhaul.
Front wheel bearing(s).
Check your sway bar rubbers in the front, there are 4 of them and they will cause a bumping and banging noise around corners and over bumps.
The most probable cause is poor fuel or water in your fuel. This could also be due to the timing being out of proper adjustment.
Mine had a clicking noise and it turned out to be the front passanger side axle assembly.
