If I may suggest one thing.....have you looked for a stone stuck in the tread of the tire on the passenger side? When they get wedged in the tread and hit the road they tick and the faster you go the more it clicks. Make sure you go completely around the tire if you haven't. Peopel have spent plenty of money trying to track down noises and I like to eliminate the obvious first.
Coming from the drive wheels? Could be worn CV joints
What kind of howling? Or is it a whining? Where does it sound like it's coming from.
An accelerating force is the force which causes accelerated motion.
What causes. Clicking. In my left ear only
If there is problems with shaking in a Ford ranger, it could be a lot of different things, like the cam sensor or the fuel filter. It would be a good idea to have it looked at professionally just in case, to avoid anything happening down the road.
You may be hearing the coolant passing thru the heater core with an air pocket trapped in there.

Lack of propulsion.
It is the alternator....
It could be one of the heat shields on the exhaust system
