Africa-Eurasia (the super-continent consisting of Africa, Europe and Asia)
The Middle East is predominantly in Southwest Asia, but there is a portion in Africa (Egypt west of the Sinai Canal) and even smaller part in Europe (Turkey west of the Bosporus).
With the exception of WikiPedia and Answers most on-line dictionaries define subcontinents as being part of a continent that is either geographically or politically apart from a continent. The examples sited by the on-line dictionaries are the Indian subcontinent which is separated from the rest of Asia by huge mountains, and Greenland which is either a very large island or a small continent. The Middle East has no real natural barriers to the rest of Asia as does India, and is a fairly large collection of disparate political entities.
Therefore the answer to this question is a resounding NO! At best it is a subcontinent but the prepoderance of opinion seems to be that it is simply part of Asia.
