The computer may not be enabling the fuel pump. If the fuel pump works when connected directly to the battery, it is good. If it won't work when connected to the wiring harness, then the computer might need to be reset. This involves disconnecting the battery for a little while, say, half an hour.
I'm having the same problem. Today is the day mine is getting fixed. I'm suspecting debris in the tank, kinked fuel line, or a loose connection on the wires going to the pump.
The problem could be that your flasher switch is going out. I had the same problem on my 99 blazer. It sounded like a bee buzzing in my dashboard. Had the switch replaced and problem was gone. Hope this helps.
If a 1995 Monte Carlo has no reverse, there could be a few problems. The transmission could be going out or the pressure solenoid needs replaced. A mechanic will be able to find the cause of the problem.
This problem could be the linkage in the transmission. The transmission could also be going out and would need replaced.
I had a Mercury Cougar with the same sound, I replaced the rear stabilizer/sway bar links. They are reasonable inexpensive and are very easy to replace providing you have some experience with working on suspension.
Could be that the clutch needs to be adjusted ... try double-clutching and see if the problem persists. Could be also that the clutch needs to be replaced.
A ballast that smells burnt is going bad. The ballast will have to be replaced to fix the problem.
You probably have a bad Electronic Control Module. They are notorious for going bad.
dont know the fix, but the lights on my 2000 cougar do the same thing...
im pretty sure that is a problem that just needs to be replaced when it goes bad i dont believe it is a fixable problem, at least wasnt for me, be we could possibly have had different problems so try to fix it anyways
Sounds like either head gasket, cracked head or cracked block
Only the Florida panther subspecies of the cougar is in danger. The population of the species as a whole is quite healthy.
