I had this problem with my 2001 Jimmy 4.3 - It turned out to be a leaky intake manifold gasket. Mine would stall after it warmed up and wouldn't restart until it cooled down. Other issues I've had we're fuel pump related. You might want to start there.
no it wont hurt the jimmy
Could be a bad coolant temperature sensor Could be a bad ignition coil

yes
A common problem on various ford models is distrbuter module cutout when the car warms up. This will kill the engine and it will not fire until the car cools. The module is the chip attached directly beneath the distrubuter. Replace the module and this stands a good chance of fixing the problem :)
its your opti-spark / the distributor. or it could be in you fuel pressure regulator, ive had the same problem in my 96 Z-28
Thermostat could be sticking. Replace it.
Could be that your low on power steering fluid. When it's cold, the fluid is more viscus, but once it warms up and thins out there isn't enough.
it could possibly be a bad coil, crank shaft sensor, or cam shaft sensor.
The engine coolant sensor could be at fault.
Checl your manual for a cold start injector. if it has one check your voltage after it warms up. if you have voltage after car warms up you have a problem with the circuit. if you don't have voltage, remove and plug the fuel line to this solinoid, start and run car and check your symptoms again.
Check your cam shaft sensor or your crank sensor, if it starts from a cold start and stalls when it warms up that might be your problem... Took me 2 months to find that out ..
