if you have no brake lights it will most likely be one of 3 things a blown fuse bad ground wire or under the brake pedal you will find a small switch that the pedal hits when you press on the pedal the switch does go bad but is easily replaced and usually not too expensive
Try checking the fuses. Had similar problem with 86 Mustang and 83 Rx7 and that was the fix. I had the exact same problem on my 95 Mustang GT. It did not occur instantaneously though (the first time). When I would pull the light knob out to the second position where the headlignts and the parking lights where suppossed to be on, my parking lights would go out. If I pushed the light knob in slightly, they would turn on. This problem got progressively worse, where I had to fiddle with it all the time to get the parking lights to work. I figured there was something wrong with the switch behind the dash so I pulled it out and it was burned up. I replaced it and it worked fine. That was about a year ago. Then yesterday it happened again. I haven't looked at it yet, but will repost if I find anything different. I can't remember what brand of switch I bought last time. I think it was an off brand though. Yep, same problem. The connector that hooks up to the switch was so burned up the metal contacts were not seating properly with the switch pins. Had to go to the junkyard for a new connector and a spare switch. 3 out of the 6 junked mustangs had the headlamp switch pulled, so it must be a reasonably common problem. This is a common problem on most Ford products that I own. The electronic parts seem to lack the gauge needed to do the work. I had to replace the connector housing and spades on my '88 Mustang. When I went to replace my heater core on my '94, I found that it had the same problem as my '88. The connector seems to heat up and melt the plastic to cause potental for a fire hazard. I would start with replacing the connector on the switch and check to make sure that the switch itself is still good. My '94 would scream a little if not put in the right spot. Good luck my man.
it could be a plunger relay switch or pressure switch as some people call them. It will be mounted on the brake pedal arm. but i would check the bulbs first because if it is a dual filament bulb it could have gone out on one filament and not another. if your tail lights work and the blinkers work while the tail lights are on then most likely it is the switch on the pedal
All those circuts are seperate. They each have there own fuse. If all the tail lights and brake lights are out check the main wire harness that feeds them. Check to see if it's been damaged or unplugged. Check the fuses of course. Check the bulbs also.
check the contacts on the brake light bulbs correspond with the terminals in the holder, eg not a single contact bulb in a double contact holder
If you have the same bulb for brake and signal, brake light power needs to be interrupted by the signal lights, The brake circuit has to go through the signal light switch so the problem could be there.
if its burnt out, replace it, if not, check the wireing
check brake light fuse and brake light switch on pedal
i would try changing your bulb in the rear of the car first then if it still not working then look for fuse or wiring problem
May be stop light switch--usually located at the upper end of the brake pedal under dash
Check the brake light bulbs, Check the brake light fuse, Check the brake light switch, In that order.
the brake light driver side not working
The brake lights in your 1983 Nissan pickup truck are controlled by the brake light relay switch. When the brake light relay switch malfunctions the brake lights will stop working.
probably the brake light switch on the pedal if none are working at all
There should be a fuse for the brake lights. If the fuse is good always check the ground wire.
Bulbs blown, or corroded sockets.
If you brake lights are not working on your trailblazer it could be due to a number of reasons. Your fuse could be blown, or your light may no longer work.
turn signal switch needs replaced!
if turn signals are working , and brake lights not working, i would replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
How about a malfunctioning brake light switch
Could be the brake light switch or fuse.
Check bulbs, fuse, brake light sensors.
