Most celebrate Cinco de Mayo instead, which is used to Honor Mexican heritage and culture.

That is only true in the united states.In Mexico however , cinco de mayo is mostly celebrated in puebla.

But in the bicentennial which was the overthrow of the spanish 200 years ago was celebrated in

lima-Peru

Honduras

Athens

rome

Madrid

and brussels-Belgium

It was on tv on the 15th on basically all the spanish channels

Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. All these countries used to belong to Mexico, and as such, they celebrate the same Independence Day (September 15).
