The US never had an Asian colony. For a time the US government controlled the Phillipines, but that was a peacekeeping measure due to the civil strife following the Phillipine liberation from the Spanish by the Americans. For a time, the US also controlled Japan after World War 2, but this also was to ensure a peaceful transition. The US controls several islands in the Pacific Ocean, like Guam, Hawaii and American Samoa, but these are not colonies nor are they part of the Asian continent.
