The main, core culture is Hellenic, Greek, especially that of Athens. The language is the Coene / Koine Greek, whose most famous document is the Christian bible, especially the New Testament (Old tastement in the translation of the 70, from Hebrew). The Koine dialect is an amalgam of several Greek dialects but its core is Attic, the Greek dialect of Athens, with infusions of Macedonian (Northwest Greek), Aeolian, Ionian and even Doric. Depending on the area, several other cultures mixed with the core Hellenic to produced new, different Hellenictic cultures. In India and Afghanistan the local hellenic populations become aquainted with Buddhism, while in Alexandria and the rest of Egypt hey come close to the Egyptian pantheon. Serapis, a mix of Hermes and osiris was the most widespred of the new Gods, and not only in Egypt. Greeks also become aquainted with Iranian (Mithra) and Hebrew (Monotheistic) Gods, and the Great Mother / Cybele cult from Asia Minor spreads throughout the Hellenistic world. Sanskrit and Aramaic along with Egyptian Demotic become widely used (depending on the area, along with the official Koine Greek. In Art, Hellenic sculpture, mosaic making and painting spread through the then known world, leaving its imprint in later Roman and Indian and even in far Eastern (China, Japan, the sculptural depiction of Buddha, Buddhist wall paintings in Tibet and among the Tocharians in Xinjiang, etc) sculpture, in areas where the Greeks themselves (Alexander the great, foremost) never even visited.
Answer:
The Hellenistic culture is the Greek culture that was created after the conquests of Alexander the Great of Macedonia. Hellas means Greece in the native tongue, and Hellenic means Greek. The Macedonians spread their Language (which evolved into Koine Greek, becoming the Lingua Franca, the international language of ancient world. It was in this Koine dialect into which the Christian bible was written, four centuries later) throughout the Middle East, southern Balkans, Egypt and southern Asia from Mesopotamia and Persia down to northern India and Bactria, in what is now Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Along with their Greek language they also spread their Hellenic culture, which evolved into the Hellenistic culture, because it took infusions from the areas it spread into. The core culture was Hellenic-Greek, with local influences, depending on the area, from Thracian, Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Iranian, Anatolian and Indic-Buddhist.
The Hellenistic world was an overlay of Greek culture brought by the successors of Alexander the Great - on his death his generals divided his empire amongst them and formed the Hellenistic kingdoms.
This veneer of Greek culture was imposed on a wide variety of local culture - Persian, Mesopotamian, Syrian, Egyptian etc depending on the area. Much of the kingdoms progressively reverted to the rule of local or incoming Asian peoples and the Greek veneer was soon discarded. The remaining parts were taken over by Rome but retained the Hellenistic overlay. The Greek east eventually became all that was left of the Roman Empire when the west was overrun by Goths, Franks and other peoples and lasted until the Ottoman Turks finally snuffed it out in the 15th Century CE.
