Nothing. He held no political office in WW1.

In WWI Hitler was just a Corporal in the German Army. If you meant to reference WWII he was very much instrumental in starting that war in Europe. Beginning in 1933 when he began to amass power,he began building the German Military Machine. Much of what he did was in direct violation of certain provisions in the Treaty of Versailles which Germany had signed to end WWI. Much of his motivation for what he did in rebuilding the military was his resentment of how Germany was given much of the blame for WWI. He saw this as unjust and so he sought to reestablish Germany's prominence in Europe and beyond. In many ways the seeds of WWII(in Europe) were sown as a result of how issues were "settled" by the Treaty of Versailles. Some national borders were redrawn and some of his actions were in an effort to reverse these changes.On September 1, 1939 all of this became a shooting war as the Nazis invaded Poland.
