I have a '93 Honda Civic SI coupe, and my hood release does the same thing... opening and closing it. Your release wire may either me too tight or too loose. If it's too tight you may need to take it to a Honda mechanic to see what you can do. And if it's too loose that its a pain in the neck to close/open your hood(like mine). You have to some how get your fingers down to the relase and tighten the wire so it will hook and lock onto the hatch.
When you pull a button in the cupe? If its no response, its the wire.
It might be the brake pedal switch
i have a Chevy s-10 1990 and the hood wont release, and the latch is broke. what should i do
the hood latch is not releasing this could be due to a stuck/broken hood latch or something wrong with the release mechanism (broken/stuck cable, handle came off of cable, etc...) use screwdriver(s) through your grille to pull the lever that would be pulled from the cable. best thing to do is get a new hood latch from local parts store and look at it to figure out how it works so you know just what to press/pull/activate on the car -R. Mesyef
my back passenger seat belt is stuck it wont release
As a Fire Fighter who faces this problem on many cars with front end damage we normally pry the edge of the hood on the driver's side up gently, look for the black cable which runs from the hood release handle to the hood release and grab and pull. This works about 95 percent of the time. If not, try to look in through the grill in the hood release area and see if you can unbolt the whole hood release.
how do you fix a prosthetic leg that the release screw wont go all the way down in to the socket
Lubricate hood latch assembly and cables liberally with WD-40 or similar
stuck parking brake/stuck brake caliper
check the distributor
this happened to my 2006 Toyota highlander...look under hood...a piece of foam was stuck up under parking brake so it couldn't shift into park
if your car runs, drive to your local fire dept they have a tool specially for opening hoods of cars when it wont open the proper way it will take em about 1 minute to open and will not do damage.i am sure if you ask they will open it for u and have a bit of alaugh aswellwhen opened get a soda pop can and jam between hood and latch so it will not close on second latch until u replace cable
