Try throwing cold water over the automobile... I had this problem. First thing to do is check for leaks in the cooling system. I found mine on the intake manifold, a small section of it had rusted through. Where ever the problem is, replace the part. Fill the system back up with water/ coolant. You may have to run the engine and keep topping it up with water as airlocks get flushed out so keep an eye on the water level in the radiator for a while. If its still over heating, change the thermostat and check the water pump. on the radiator there is the water temp switch that can stop workin this controlls when your fan should kick in. to replace will cost £15 tops easy fit
