Im not sure if the sound is from the wheel bearing, but my car is making a weird sound when I accelerate. It sounds like a dying cat. Or a little bird whistling.
Just got the price tag on my back right wheel bearing, $475. It sounds like a loud vibration/rubbing sound, very noisy. At first I thought my muffler was going bad.
A roaring sound is usually caused by a worn out wheel bearing.
If its a metal to metal sound its probably a wheel bearing
I would guess that it is the wheel bearing. is it a grumbling sound or an all out grinding? If it is or was a grumbling sound and has turned into a grinding it is probably the wheel bearing.
r/f wheel bearing. the weight shifts to the left tire when you turn right so if the noise stops its the r/f wheel bearing.
Bad Tire or wheel bearing, rotate the tires to the front if the noise follows its the tire if remains in rear its the wheel bearing
wheel bearing
Noise when the wheel is turning or wo-wo-wo-wo sound when driving.
A bad wheel bearing does not sound like a jet engine. It is more of a grinding noise. If you only hear this during acceleration, I would suspect your breather intake is loose or disconnected. Unload the bearings by swerving right and left. If the noise disappears then you may indeed have a bad bearing. In other words if you swerve right and the noise disappears, suspect a bad right wheel bearing, etc.
Usually when a wheel bearing goes bad, it will begin to make a high pitch noise like a bad humming sound and the sound increases as the speed of the vehicle increases. Take it to a shop and find out if they will check it for you.
