A guide to what the symbols on the map mean
Most important - this should not require a dealer service call. Fuses are simple electrical devices designed to prevent voltage overflow into and through a component. The Honda Owner's Manual should list the fuse panel location for the vehicle. According to notes - the panel is on the driver's side near the kick panel. If you have difficulty seeing the panel diagram - use a bright light and magnifier is required. The cigarette lighter fuse should be labeled "accessory" or "accy" according to another posting. Simply replace the 15AMP "ACCY" fuse with a new one and the component should work again. There is no need to disconnect the battery. This should be a simple task. Typing errors - acceptable... JimW_A_Lutheran I just bought a 03 accord and there is NO fuse labeld accessoryy or accy or ACCY in the interior or under hood fuse panel. I am clueless on how to get my 12V to work.
Hi,the fuse box is located by the throttle pedals on your right side just after the driver's door. this really isn't an answer but i have tried to locate where the 12 volt fuse is with no luck, i have searched the owners manual and there is nothing listed as 12 volt or accessory or accy. please somone find out
There is orange wire which is hot all the time and is protected by a 25 amp fuse. There is also a yellow wire which is hot on accy or run and is protected by a 10 amp fuse. Be carful which yellow wire you use there may be two of them one is a power and one goes to the left rear speaker.
The primary (under dash over driver' feet) comes down fairly easy, I don't remember if there are any screws, I think most of it is a matter of getting the plastic clips to release. There's just enough play in the wire harness to allow it to drop for a slightly better view. There is how ever a secondary fuse/relay panel that's no where's near as congenial, this one took me several hours to locate. It's located on the passenger side against the front door pillar, between the heater core and the inner fender support (while still inside of the cab), behind some other obstructions. Without further disemboweling my car, if you close your right eye and squint the other, you might faintly be able to recognize the shapes and silhouettes of fuses and relays with the help of a small powerful flashlight. Trust me, it's there and should you find it you will truly know the location of B.F.Egypt. God only knows who the demented SOB was that thought it was a good idea to stuff that turkey in there and I'm not exactly sure just how you should approach reaching it let alone being able to trouble shoot it. I do know however (This is a hint for further references) that the part of the circuits controlling the accy. and accy./run circuits are located there along with the control circuitry for the climatron comfort control circuitry. Part of the accy. / run circuit that feeds the climatron control (stuck relay) failed in my LSS last winter causing the heat system to activate even when the key was not present. You can imagine having a dead battery every time you go out in sub zero weather! Fortunately you can also the control for that circuit from the primary fuse panel by installing a relay on the back side of the panel. By interrupting the Accy. circuit fuse with a relay and keying it with the ignition (or run) fuse, you can control the circuit safely and should the defective relay start to work on it's own, the circuit will still operate correctly. Good Luck, Doug
I'M NOT A MECHANIC but the owner's manual for the 1996 Ford Explorer shows INSTRUMENT PANEL RELAY MODULE # 4 containing a large relay for accy. delay system power windows along with 6 smaller relays. I'm sorry , but I don't know the exact location under the instrument panel. (Helpfull)
Turn the key to accy' and turn the radio on. Push DISPLAY button until the clock time shows on the radio display. Look to the top right of the radio and you will see 2 small holes there that are marked "H" and "M". Using a paper clip or tip of a ball point pen, push the "H" button until the desired hour is reached, repeat doing the same for "M" for the minutes. You will notice there are no separate AM or PM settings for the clock.
According to the owners manual , there is an INSTRUMENT PANEL RELAY MODULE # 4 , that contains a large relay for Accy. Delay System Power windows , and 6 smaller relays for dimmer / battery saver system / one touch down / anti - theft system (2) / head lamp delay system The diagram arrow just points at the instrument panel , no specific location in the dash area of your 1996 Ford Explorer (Helpfull)
