No, not everyone gets it. Usually, its hypertropic scarring, which is treatable. Its usually caused by friction from poor fitting jewelry or constantly touching/hitting the piercing.

It is probably hypertropic scarring. Go out and buy some tea tree oil at walmart or just about any drugstore. After you clean your ear, just dab a bit of the oil on the bump and leave it. Do that once or twice a day until th bump goes away. The oil will dry out the bump and it'll flake off in layers.
