Faulty: spark plug, spark plug wire, ignition coil, ignition module, fuel injector are the most common. Coolant leaking into a cylinder is another.

Your thermostat is stuck closed. you will need to replace it. The thermostat controls the circulation through the radiator - when the engine heats up the thermostat is meant to switch circulation from just-engine to engine+radiator. Sounds like this isn't happening.
What makes you think it's the temp sensor? It sounds more like a stuck thermostat, faulty water pump or plugged radiator.

replacing the engine control module should solve your problem it sounds like you are having a common problem. when the engine control module overheats it shuts down when its cool its fine.start with that and then move to the coil pack and pick up coil
Does the speedometer work? Sounds like the electrical connector from the transmission to the PCM is either not plugged in correctly or at all.
