Will a 1990 Honda CRX Engine fit in a 1995 Honda Civic?

Yes, it will fit, as they are both D-series motors. However the 95 Civic has a hydraulic clutch, and the 90 crx is just a cable clutch. Also, the 90 CRX motor is OBD0 and the 95 Civic is OBD1.

How do you swap a Honda b series motor into a 1988-1991 Honda civic?

there are a few things that need to be done to do this. first you need to make sure you have the correct shift linkage. secondly you will need to find out if your car has a hydro or cable tranny and what tranny is on the b series motor you are getting and make sure they are the same. most b series have hydros unless its from a 91 or so. your car could have either one, 88-91 is the time period Honda changed to hydro trannys. you also will need to get mounts for a 88-91 b series so the motor will fit correctly. if the motor is obd0 then you can just plug everything back up and just add a few wires but if it is obd1 then you will have convert your obd0 vehicle to work with the obd1 motor there are instructions on how to do so, and you can buy pre made harnesses. also you will need a b series ecu. other then that just swap the motors. it really is not as hard as it seems don't be discouraged get a few friends and a cherry picker and you will be able to do it in 1-2 days if you read up and prepare everything.

Will a 91 Honda Civic motor fit in a 97 Honda Civic?

This swap can be done. However, converting from OBD2 to OBD0 is a difficult task and usually deters people from attempting such a task.ODB stands for On-Board Diagnostics, and the number following the acronym is the version number. This system allows your vehicle to self-diagnose problems with the engine and other components or the car. Obviously, an older engine has older technology so you would need to convert the OBD system for the engine you want to use in the car.It would be beneficial to retain the current OBD2 status your car has by continuing to use a 1996-2000 Honda Civic engine. If a replacement motor is required, a used motor can be purchased online rather inexpensively.
