Britain didn't win World War II. it was an Allied effort Britain was the staging point for D Day but it was a joint effort with both British, American and rebel ground forces and British commandos fighting behind enemy lines, America would not have won the war if it wasn't for the 2 years of battles that Britain had been fighting but also Britain would not have lasted if it was not for the loans of money, resources and weaponry that the US lent Britain, on a side note Hitler wanted peace with Britain years before the end of the war and did so up until the war ended, Winston Churchill how ever was adamant of bringing Germany to there knees, Britain also had the allegiance of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and India
