if you change your thermostat and refill your car with antifreeze/coolant you may have air in your cooling system causing hot spots. you should bleed the cooling system let the air come out. it can also be an internally collapse hose.
Depends on the model and year. Some have a thermo switch on the radiator. Check for a wired plug on the radiator. Some fans are controlled by the ecu using data from the coolant temp sensor.
i am currently having a over heating problem with my vw golf mk1 - my new thermo switch is not getting the fan to come on ( works when i short it at the switch connector) - probly a radiator block usually when a thermo switch is not functioning - i will not allow the fan to kick in it either works or it dosent
Bad thermo, replace. The thermo senses that the pilot is lit and opens gas valve, also could be bad or blocked gas valve.
The 1990 Honda Accord thermo fan relay switches can be found in the fuse box. The Thermo fan relay switch is will be at the bottom of the third column.
where is the gas fuse located in a malibu
In the relay box under the hood.
I have the same problem 1998 Suzuki we have to check the oil temp indicator light thermo- switch. Check for loose connection's or for any shorts or a defective thermo-switch.
if i remimber they have a bleeder to get the air out on top by were the top hose hooks to the thermo housing. hope that wil fix it.
I want to know where the thermo switch of land rover discovery 1996 located in the car.
If overheating while moving it could be brakes dragging or emergency brake on or bad bearings in wheel. If overheats when idling could be bad timing, seized alternator or idler pulley bearings.
This is caused by one of two things, if the fan is controlled by the thermo switch even when the car is off, then either the thermo switch or the relay is stuck on. If the fan never runs when the car is off, then it's a stuck or shorted relay.
Switches are usually made of Thermo Setting Polymers. Bakelite is an example.
