i have a 2002 sport trac. i have a horrible squeking in the front end. i have new shocks so i know that is not the problem. someone said that it could be the body mount insulators. could this be it?
Yes
Most of the time the squeak is coming from the interior plastic cover of the rear hatch door. If you close the hatch door and hear a squeak then you know what I am speaking of. The clips for the interior plastic cover on the hatch door move and squeak over bumps and when closing. Not sure how to fix the problem yet. Maybe DynaMat...?
Well im not sure where your talking on the front end but its possible the belt is squeaky and that could be because of it isn't tight enough. your brakes could be squeaky because theyre worn. but ya there are many things that could squeak in the front end
The brakes can squeak, the suspension can squeak, the steering can squeak, the wheel hub/bearings can squeak, have a trusted mechanic determine the source of the squeak.
It's the upper strut bushings. It probably will gwt worse when it's cold.
A Trailblazer that squeaks only when turning to the left could have a problem with the steering or front wheel bearing. Turning to the left puts the right pressure on the parts to cause them to squeak.
my front arm bushing gone on the front right will it hurt to drive it
== == Bad tire? Bent wheel? Bent axle? Worn strut? Worn strut bushing?
The front driveshaft yoke slides up into the seal and also into a bushing. If the bushing is worn, it will eat up a new seal quickly and start leaking. Check for side to side play or lost motion between the yoke and bushing. If there is any, replace the bushing and rear seal. Also look for a good clean smooth surface on the yoke slider. Also check for a bad U-joint that will cause driveshaft vibration and lead to bushing wear.
Most new sway bar bushings are split so they can be R & R easily. Remove clamp from bushing, slip or cut old bushing out, slip new bushing in and replace bushing clamp.
Probably a control arm bushing, possibly a strut mount or stabilizer bar bushing. Mine was the control arm bushing, 2001 Windstar Sport pkg.
Could be the belt in the tire, that can cause it to squeek, also it could be the wheel bearing or the C/V Joint.
