Synthetic Oil the best you can afford, most PCA people will recommend Mobil 1

Usually takes 13-15 quarts or as the metrics will tell you 13 litres.. But you don't want to put too much in so put 10-11 in and add until full.. Then come back later after a cool down period and check again. As this car is Air/oil cooled your temp of the country will have some slight bearing. But the reason for using synthetic is it does NOT break down in viscosity as easily as normal oil. And since it is a car that runs hotter and faster you don't want you oil breaking down like reg oil at 300 degrees you'd rather have something like synthetic that just begins at 400 degrees. Also these cars as they get older do tend to both burn off some of the oil (unless you have a perfect engine) and they will develop very slight leaks. On mine even 1 quart low and i notice the difference in druck (oil ) pressure. So that's why we are always checking our oil, to keep it at top peak performance. Unless you are ungodly rich and can afford a new Porsche motor (10K+) every time you turn around.

The funny is an American car is 5-6 quarts of any junk oil at $2.99 to $4.00=$20-25.00 for a complete oil change.. Whereas a Porsche with 14 quarts at $8-9.00 plus filter (another $15-20) will run you $135 to $150 for an oil change so either be on good terms and have an account with an Auto parts store or have $$ for all the Porsche repairs..

Can you put a V6 Chevy engine into a Porsche boxster?

No, you will ruin your car. A Chevy engine should not be put into a Porsche Boxter. I would recommend if you have the money, to buy an engine that is made by porsche that can go faster than your boxster.

What does the 911 in a Porsche 911 mean?

Before the Porsche 911 was introduced in late 1963, it was known by the factory during its development as Project 901 (a number with no significance outside of keeping Porsche's many projects easily organized; every car under development by Porsche receives a 3-digit number identifying it). When it came time to put the car into production, Porsche planned on leaving the new model as the 901. French car manufacturer Peugeot, however, objected on the grounds that it held the rights in France to any car name consisting of three numbers with a zero as the center digit. Thus, Porsche decided to bump the zero up to '1' and the 911 was born.

What if you put transmission fluid in the engine instead of the transmission by mistake?

You should drain the oil in the engine. Put engine oil back in the engine because the transmission oil is not made for engines and will hurt the moving parts of the engine if left in.

Why is Porsche called 911?

Before the Porsche 911 was introduced in late 1963, it was known by the factory during its development as Project 901 (a number with no significance outside of keeping Porsche's many projects easily organized; every car under development by Porsche receives a 3-digit number identifying it). When it came time to put the car into production, Porsche planned on leaving the new model as the 901. French car manufacturer Peugeot, however, objected on the grounds that it held the rights in France to any car name consisting of three numbers with a zero as the center digit (though they allowed Porsche to use the pattern on their competition cars such as the 904 and 906). Thus, instead of selling the car under a different name in France, Porsche decided to bump the zero up to '1' and the 911 was born.
