in some cases the antifreeze will change consistency, it would turn into a "muddy" like substance. As long as the antifreeze you are using is ethylene glycol based, as most are,(Prestone, Peak, Zerex, private label brands) EXCEPT the Sierra brand, they are totally compatible. If your cooling system has any darkness to it that indicates it is time for a cooling system flush.
If it is an even number mixed then it becomes a freezing mixture. If an odd number then it will be anti freeze mixture! I see no reason why this is making a noise :)
You die.
Not Prestone. Get the NISSAN anti-freeze. [Prestone is high-silica anti-freeze and different from what the Japanese use on their cars.]
water freezes and expands popping the welsh plug
Yes it can freeze.
Yes, anti-freeze can kill you if you drink it.
YES! DON'T DO IT. Use the correct anti freeze for your car. foreign and US cars use different types of coolant. Use anti freeze that says it's a 50/50 mix of water and anti freeze, or buy 100% anti freeze and mix it with 50% distilled water.
I suppose you will get 2-phase liquid: antifreeze at the bottom and gasoline at the top.
50% anti-freeze, 50% water is normal, this can be elevated to 70% anti-freeze, 30% water. It is not recommended to have a higher anti-freeze ratio than this.
Yes it is. It keeps the engine cool in summer and won't freeze in the winter; hence the two different names for the same thing.
The color of the antifreeze does not have anything to do with the type of anti-freeze. Anti-freeze manufacturers can make their anti-freeze any color they choose. You can use any SAE certified anti-freeze in your 1997 Toyota Corolla.
It's due to the car over heating and it's usually because of cheap anti freeze or too much water in the mixture. (Probably a clogged radiator or a bad thermostat, too much water or "cheap anti-freeze" has nothing to do with it. They don't make "cheap" anti freeze. Anti-freeze is just that... anti-freeze!)
