It depends. Water would feeze quickly in the winter. The other drawback is that antifreeze/coolant contains lubricant for the water pump. The use of water for long periods will result in premature pump wear and accelerating of cylinder head corosion. U make your decision now!!

How do you bleed the antifreeze valve on a 2001 Chrysler Sebring?

After you have completed work on the cooling system and you begin to replace the coolant, open the bleeder a couple turns. As you pour coolant into the reservoir air trapped will escape out the bleeder. As soon as you see coolant come out of the bleeder close the bleeder valve and continue to add coolant to the reservoir until you have reached the full mark. Replace cap on reservoir. Allow vehicle to run through a drive cycle and cool down. Top off reservoir to full mark if necessary.

What is the purpose of the vacuum valve in a radiator cap?

It replaces coolant back into the system by drawing coolant from the reservoir that was pushed out into the reservoir during the heat up process.

Do valve covers leak antifreeze?

There SHOULD only be oil inside the valve covers. If they leak coolant you have a serious problem.

How to do a coolant change on a Toyota Corolla?

To change coolant on a Toyota Corolla, place a bucket under the radiator. Open the radiator drain valve and remove the radiator cap. When all antifreeze drains out, close the drain valve. Then refill with fresh antifreeze and replace the radiator cap.

I have a 1995 Chevy Beretta . What would make the low coolant light stay on when there is enough coolant in the car?

There is a sensor valve located inside the reservoir its may be bad

What do we heard in valve leaks?

If it is loosing coolant then you have a leak. Could be the reservoir itself is leaking. Cold also be a leaking water pump, or a blown head gasket. Have this looked at immediately as a blown head gasket will cause serious engine damage. You need to find this leak.Answerif this helps, when antifreeze/coolant leaks in to the engine 99% of the time the vehicle will blow white smoke out the tail pipe.also if your oil changes to a milky white substance you have antifreeze/coolant leaking into the engine.the previous answer has the right sugestions, have it checked.

How do you 'burp' the line after replacing the upper radiator hose on a 1997 Cavalier 2.2 with no radiator cap?

Assuming you didn't drain the system, you shouldn't have to burp it at all. Just keep the reservoir full and warm up the engine. it circulates through the reservoir and back to the radiator. To "bleed" the cooling system on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, there is a small brass bleeder valve located on the heater pipe that runs along the front of the motor (metal pipe). Open that valve a couple turns and pour in the antifreeze in the reservoir tank until antifreeze starts dripping from the bleeder hole. Tighten the valve, but be careful not to tight too tight, they are soft brass and break easy. Finish filling the reservoir to the Full Cold mark. After driving the car at least one time and letting it cool down, check the antifreeze level on the reservoir and fill as needed.

Why does your truck get hot after replacing the thermostat and full of coolant?

Try bleeding the system. Sometimes there's a valve or sometimes you just open the raditor cap or reservoir

How do you change antifreeze on 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit 750?

you should have a petcock valve on the bottom of the radiator. beware. do not use automobile antifreeze in a motorcycle. it contains silicone that will wear your water pump. make sure to use motorcycle antifreeze or silicone free automotive. Try this link out. It's got pictures and directions to help you with the coolant change. http://users.zoominternet.net/~capronem/Coolant%20change.htm

Is it the valve cover gasket or the head gasket that keep antifreeze out of the oil?

The head gasket seals the head to the engine block. Coolant and oil flow through the head. The gasket prevents then from mixing together. The valve cover gasket only prevents oil from splashing onto the engine and exposing the valve train and moving parts to the outside of the engine. No coolant makes contact with the valve cover gasket.

Where is the coolant air bleed valve on 2000 Mercury Villager?

The Villager engine does not have a coolant bleed valve.

If the heater in a Daewoo Leganza does not work well and you have already had the antifreeze lines flushed with new antifreeze and a new thermostat what else can you do?

It could be a partially blocked heater core, a faulty heater valve that allows the coolant through the heater core or it could be a faulty water pump.
