Those can be extremely difficult.
I would advise getting someone else to help you.
Most piercers at tattoo parlors will help you for free.
There are tools to help you close the ring onto the ball, but it's very easy to squeeze too hard and clamp your lip.

Place the ring then place the captive bead over the seam
Put in a captive bead ring.
I think you're describing a Captive ball/bead ring. Its really difficult to explain by typing it out and can be tricky to figure out for the first time. The best thing is to look up videos on how to open/close a CBR on youtube or something like that.
If its a captive bead/ball ring, you'll probably have to widen it a bit. Use pliers if you have them but if not, go ask your piercer. First try popping the bead out. If you cant just push it, put your nail between the ball and the end of the ring and try to wiggle it out. If its a stud, just unscrew the ball on the end. If its too tight, use gloves or a towel and ask a friend to do it.
Just take the ball/bead out of it and put the ring on your lip. If the diameter of the ring is too long, it may not look realistic but just give it a shot. You can't do much else with it.
Slip the ring over your ear to the hole. Then, rotate the ring through. The bead should have small dimples on either side. Put one of the dimples on one side of the ring and press the other dimple into the ring **this will take a few tries**. If the ball is too small for the opening press the ring together to make the opening smalller. Could also look on youtube. Oh and this is called a CBR which stands for Captive Bead Ring.
labrets is the typpe of jewelery used for your lip piercing. they have a flat back on one end and a ball n the other. the flat part is put inside your lip and the ball is the decoration on the outside :D
Push the bead side ways and it will pop off the ring, it's called a captive bead ring, the bead is held by the tension of the ring nothing more. no to get the ball off, you turn the ball to your right. the phrase Righty tighty lefty losey applies only it's the left of the piercer in which case would be your right. if the ball is stubborn and still won't come off go to a the piercer that put the piercing in place or another body art studio and explain to them you can't get the ball off and they should loosen it for you.
Rings aren't good for navel piercings at all. Theres too much contact with that jewelry so it increases the rejection rate. For now, you can use an eraser to fill the gap. I've seen people wrap medical tape around the gap and that seems to work for them too. You should definitely switch the ring out and put a barbell. If its under 2months old, you can go to a piercer and have them change it with sterile jewelry :)
put in the hoop earings, ring , girls go games keychain and the oink bead bracelet and you should get bling bling
You put them in your ear ...
they add a new ring to the bottom
