How do you put a seashell bead on your hemp?

1. Come to a stopping point in your current braid pattern. Knot the whole thing with a square, or other knot.

2. Separate one strand out from the rest, thread it through the hole on your shell, then braid (three strand braid... most hemp weave uses four) the remaining strands together until you cover the length of the back of the shell. You may need to experiment with which strand you use to get the proper hold or drape on your piece.

3. Knot the whole thing together to re-unite all threads. Start with the same pattern you left off with before.

What does FK slash BK mean in crafts?

FK/BK are references to names of knots. So FK is forward knot, and BK is backwards knot. So with a FK, you take your 2 strands and make a "number four" shape, and you finish wrapping around and pulling through. A BK is similar, but you make a backwards "number four" and then finish wrapping around and pulling through. When you see them with slashes, it means to do it one way and then the other way.

What is the difference between u bead and j bead pool liners?

Basically, the "hole" it's going into. For example, the J bead is shaped to fit into the coping that is shaped to fit a J bead. J bead is different from a regular bead. A regular bead's coping does kinda looks like a sideways U.

The difference in the beads is courtesy of the manufacturers. Some just had to be different.

J bead and U beads go over the wall.No coping.

There are some beads called Universal beads that fit into a groove in the coping or overlap the wall.

Typical above ground beading is a K bead

Where can you find the cheapest jewelry beads?

Search for a Chinese importer. These kind of things come from there. Maybe look for one on the west coast. Make sure you buy by the pound and not by units. You'll probably spend a little more but you will get much better value and have enough inventory to last you a long time. Cheaper costs also means you can profit more if you sell them. *You could also try Shipwreck Beads in Olympia, Washington. They have the largest selection and their showroom is open every day of the week. They have something like 40,000 different beads! They also sell a catalog. *Ebay might be another good place to look for beads. Milky Way Jewelry in China is popular.

All types are jewelry can be obtained from amazon at cheaper price. Check the link below. You can also search by price range from $1-$24 $25-$50 etc..,

How do you get a nice solder bead when soldering charms?

The key to this is to get the iron really hot. Flux the iron first, then apply solder to the iron. Touch the charm with the solder at the ready. It should bead perfectly. The other key is to work quickly, you don't want to melt your charm.

What is a troll bead?

The fantastic story about the original and unique Trollbeads started in 1976 in Denmark, when Søren Sølvsmed (Silver-smith) created the very first Trollbeads, at a time when it was fashionable to have a ball of silver on a leather thong around your neck.

The very first Trollbead was a silver bead with six different troll faces all the way around it. This bead is still in the collection. Within a short time, Søren had designed several new beads so that the customers had different beads to choose from. But it was not really until Lise Aagaard in 1987, opened her store that people discovered Trollbeads. Lise made sure that every customer felt, they where a part of the Trollbeads universe. Visit trollbeadsuniverse.com to see examples.

If you have ten boxes of Mardi Gras beads for the parade what is the best way to organize all the beads into dozens?

Put each necklace in a small "Glad" bag. You can zip it up and see through the plastic to find the color you want. It also prevents all the strings of beads from tangling. *There is also another way. I own a bead store. What we do is take plastic bags and cut strips out of them. This creates a "loop" of plastic. Take the loop thru all of the strands you want grouped. Then either tie the strip (most secure) or loop the strip thru itself, much like you would hook two rubberbands together. Once you have these groups tied you can then pick them up by the tie strip. Sometimes we even loop a strip thru the small groups to create a larger group. We have been using this method for many years. You can also cut strips of paper, slip them thru the strands you want grouped and staple the band around the groups. Have fun at Mardi Gras

I found the best place to look for bead designs in by typing it into your favorite search box. By using the search feature, you can find the site that will best fit your needs, since it isn't clear whether you want to design beads, or use bead designs for jewelry, or if you want loom style designs. I have provided a few search lists for you to check out.

AnswerYou can also check out your local library and bookstores. I have spent many an hour at a bookstore absorbing patterns and taking pictures of difficult designs. There are also beading magazines to check out. My favorites are Beadwork and Bead & Button.

What are the best kinds of beads to use when making jewelry?

The best kinds of beads to use when making jewelry can be answered on several different points. Creatively, use whatever you like.

Jewelry is an art form, it has been with us since the beginning of the human race, people have decorated themselves with beautiful and unique objects that represent something special to them.

What is the message you want to convey with the jewelry you make? Use what you decide would get the message across most effectively. From a design aspect, using what is traditionally appropriate for that design, ie., glass seed beads for native American beadwork, is a good place to start, and then incorporating something a little different that you think would look good in the design will give it originality.

From a marketing perspective, semiprecious and precious stone beads are most popular, for example chalcedony briolettes, amethyst, ruby, tourmaline faceted beads, etc. While they cost more than using glass, they also demand a higher retail price for the finished piece. If you are going to spend the time to make jewelry to sell, make quality jewelry using fine materials and you will make more profit in the long run.
