You normally smell the antifreeze so open the hood and look for a leak before you see it big time running out from under your car.
If it is not actually over heating, then if the smell is outside the car, look for coolant leaks around the head and the thermostat cover. Inside the car could be a leaking heater coil.
yes
A sweet smell is usually coolant being burned, check your coolant level and oil ( look for milky appearance ) as it may be a head gasket leak. A coolant leak on the outside of the motor may indicate a leak somewhere in the radiator or one of the hoses. When an AC line is leaking I have heard some people describe the smell as sweet.
Leaking heater core
you can smell it when you are in the car, or you can look under the car once its parked for awhile and you will see a stain on the ground.
because some one egged you.
Check your cabin air filter.
coolant smell/leakyes more than likely that's your prob. but could be maybe a hose.
What color is the smoke? Black - running rich. Bluish - buring oil. White - burning coolant. When you smell the gas, it is inside or outside the minivan? Back of the car or near the front?
Likely as not there is a coolant leak, perhaps in the heater core.
Possibly the Head Gasket is blown.
Bravada smell coolant. That's how they greet each other.
