The WS6 option is a suspension package (that later included other performance components) that has been sold on the Pontiac Formula and Firebird models since 1979. Part of the packages included a limited-slip solid rear axle with disc brakes. I am not aware that Chevy ever used the "WS6" designation for such a package, but the axle assembly from a WS6 Pontiac is a direct bolt-in to any same-generation Camaro, so it has probably been called by that name. The combination of the WS6 spring rates, shock valving, large anti-sway bars, and 4-wheel disc brakes can really boost the handling of an F body. With some minor welding, the same axle can be adapted to Tri-Five Chevys with great results.
