I am not sure what your definition of a growling noise is, but i have a 96 s-10 pick up with the 4.3 and i have been having weird noises as well. At first i thought it was the front end assembly so i replaced everything from tie rods to wheel bearing to front drive shaft linkages. Literally replaced my front end.... still have the problem. I went to a dealer and had the mechanic take it for a ride. He thought it was loose engine mounts. I looked at them over and over, no vibrations from what it seems. The year 96 seems to be a problem with noises after ten years or so. sorry im not much help but good luck!!
Yes
A bad engine temp sensor can do that.
engine misfire. i have a '96 Chevy blazer but i don't have that problem, i was reading reviews on the car and found out that some of them do that.
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer LT and it ran great until I took it to a Valvoline for an oil change. I had over 160,000 miles on it and they put the wrong oil filter on it to cause my engine to seize. Jeff- Sioux Falls, SD
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
Yes, along with hundreds of other things. See related questions below.
first find out if the engine is getting spark or fuel. if the engine is not turning over or absolutely nothing is happening, find out if the starter is receiving current.
You have another problem other then the knock sensor if the engine will not start and run. A knock sensor will not cause the engine not to run.
A blown fuse can make your dashboard lights to not work in your 1993 Chevy Blazer Tahoe. A burned out bulb can also cause this.
no.
Bad brake booster.
