The common things are as follows :
1. Both follows the laws of karma.
2.Both follows the idea of reincarnation (death and rebirth).
3.Both see the ultimate reality as formless.
The difference being that in Hinduism there are vast numbers of gods, demigods, deities that is seen as the divine manifestation of the Ultimate whereas in Sikhism there is rejection of all the gods, demigods and deities and the Ultimate itself is worshiped in its Highest regard.

I mean many would probably say that sikhism and Buddhism are different over their views of god, but actually buddhism does have a dharmic god like equivalent, it is called Nirvania.This is the case because in hinduism and sikhism they both believe that god is a peaceful place, home to the soul(atman/jiva) and free of suffering, and buddhism believes in this but calls it Nirvania.
Infact guru nanak even visited Tibet on his travels and whilst there was worshipped as a reincartion of the Tibetan buddhist guru Padmasambhava and still worshipped by Tibetan buddhists today as that. Infact some Tibetan buddhists even reagard Armistar and golden temple amongest all major buddhist pilgrimage sites such as Bodh gaya.
I mean both Guru Nanak and the Buddha, were enlightened Hindu satgurus(gurus) who's teachings later split of and became separate religions.
