Either you have a leak at the reservoir, or someplace else in your cooling system. You may also have a bad water pump that is leaking. And lastly you may have a blown head gasket that can be very serious. Find this leak ASAP. If you find you have a blown head gasket, stop driving the vehicle until it is repaired. Serious engine damage will occur if you continue to drive it.

Engine coolant.
The container for coolant is to the right in the engine bay, above the battery, and has a yellow lid that states "coolant". On the side of the container you can see a marking. Fill up to marking when engine is cold.Do not even attempt to open container when engine is hot, steam will shoot out and burn you.
cools the engine. without a fan, the car will overheat and the coolant will boil. the fan controls this from happening by cooling the coolant as it passes through the radiator.
It should be all the time in the container. It has special marks MIN and MAX, the coolant level should not be lower than the MIN mark and not higher than MAX. You have to add coollant when the engine is cold.
On the bottom of the plastic coolant overflow (fill) container on the passenger side.
In most cases a 50/50 mix of straight coolant and water is sufficient. Read the directions on the coolant container and adjust to your weather needs.
Transmission fluid, if you have a bad radiator.
A 50/50 mix of water and a good quality antifreeze
You add coolant by opening the radiator cap (when the engine is cool of course). Fill it up to the top just under the filler neck. There is also a catch can, a clear container that is connected to the top of the radiator by a rubber hose. It "catches" coolant when the heat of the engine expands the coolant. Fill that up to the "MAX" mark.
Under the hood on the driver's side next to the washer fluid and engine coolant container.
Sounds like engine coolant and what type of coolant depends on the vehicle.
Do not have your car on. First step is to make sure your car has enough engine coolant, if you are low, buy some at the store and put it in its proper place for your car(If you do not know where that is then consult your owner's manual for engine or engine coolant.) If that is not the problem, then it is possible that you have a leak somewhere from the coolant container to your engine. Either check for any possible holes or loose connections or take it into an auto repair shop.
