Change the speed sensor.
To add a rev counter to a Fiat Ducato diesel alternator, you'll need to connect the rev counter's input to the "W" terminal on the alternator. The "W" terminal provides a signal that corresponds to engine RPM, typically by generating a pulse for each engine revolution. Make sure to consult the vehicle's wiring diagram for specific connections and ensure compatibility with your rev counter model. Additionally, check that your alternator is equipped with a "W" terminal, as not all might have this feature.

rev counter not working
was told there's a rev counter "unit" somewhere, Haine's manual has nothing, let us know if you sorted it? == Believe rev counter engine speed pickup is from the alternator. Had Rover 218TD with same engine, alternator went and rev counter stopped working. There were 3 wires to alternator, big thick red one, alternator light one and the rev counter feed. Hope this helps peter
