What is the best way to change the fuel pump on a 1992 Chevy Camaro 5.0L V8 auto trans 2wd?

I've heard of people cutting a hatch above the fuel tank, inside the car... I wouldn't know exactly where to cut so I just took my car to a shop and had them change my fuel pump for me, I also told them to cut a hatch so if I ever have to change the fuel pump again I don't have to go through all the trouble of dropping the tank....
You have to drop the fuel tank. The pump is inside the tank, and due to the possible danger involved with this, it would be best left to a professional. If not, then you need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
