its a 4 digit code to enable radio operation, best bet is to pull radio out and get serial number from sticker on top of radio and call Volvo dealer with radio model # sc-815 or sc-816 and serial number and they can run thru computer and get your code
The code is unique to each radio. Volvo dealerships can provide you with the correct code for your radio.
Take radio out, its real simple, look at manual; the code for the radio is on a sticker on the back of the unit.
Each radio is different, mine was 1342.... You could try inputing the radio model into Google and asking for a code for it that way...
Each radio has it's own code - that's the point - if it's stolen it can't be used so therefore it is less likely to be stolen. See your dealer to get a copy of the code.
The code is different for each radio. Your best chance to get the code is to call the nearest Volvo dealer and give them the part number or serial number on the radio.
Each radio has its own unlock code. If your radio is still in the car, slide the radio out and the code should be either on top, or somewhere on the casing.

Yes. but you will need to go to the dealer to get the code to turn the radio on. Be sure to take all paperwork with you that you do own the car and how you acquired the radio.
you can go to the dealer with the radio or the VIN # and the should either be able to unlock it for you or look up the code.
The CD changer was an option on the 1995 Volvo 960. If it is so equipped, the CD changer can be found in the trunk, bolted to the underside of the rear parcel shelf. On the wagon, it is under the right hand access panel in the cargo area.
that would be a DoubleDIN sized radio. Its like stacking two normal DIN sized radios on top of one another. A DIN is the standard size for most aftermarket radios.

my code is 1564 for 95 Hyundai accentFromHyundai OwnerEach Hyundai will come with a card this card contains the code to you radio without this card the radio will not unlock because of the theft system.
Call your local Volvo dealer, and have you VIN# ready, the dealer should be able to tell you the code. NOTE: if you have the Volvo cr-814 cassette radio your code will be 6 digits, you use the radio preset station buttons 1-6 to input the code and this is VERY important, when inputting the code the first 2 digits will not show in the display window but the last 4 digits of the code will show in the window! do not try to repeat the code over and over again when you do not see the first 2 digits in the display window. After inputting the code push the "aut" button until the code window clears and radio staion is displayed, leave your key in the on position for accessory but not running in the car for 1 hour with the radio on, you're done enjoy!
