I can't respond with any expertise about Medifast.

I can with great authority respond on the differences between IP and Protidiet.

I was a Consultant and coach for IP with my own clinic and opened a large number of IP clinics. Both system work. The quality of the products are both excellent.

Having said that though, IP is way overpriced, and they don't recommend exercise. The flavour of the foods is not as good as Protidiet.

After I tried the Protidiet

chicken soup, I had to choke down the Ideal Protein chicken soup. The vanilla shake from Protidiet

is amazing. You can smell the vanilla bean as well as taste it. Again, the IP flavour is inferior. The bars are awesome, especially the Chocolate Dream for all the chocolate lovers out there. Tastes like a Nestles Crunch bar!

Most importantly, Protidiet

not only considers their food as a weight loss protocol, but it's great for athletes, and the elderly. ALL AT HALF THE PRICE!
The protocols are similar. Protidiet

has been in business for over 25 years and has their version of IP's

4-phase program, but more intelligently labelled. Rather than Phase

1, 2 3, and 4 they have named the Phases as Quick, Moderate, Transition and Maintenance. Easier no?

Next, I find the Protidiet

protocol is better in that they recommend more exercise, they have their reasons.... and also they allow some fruit and dairy. This is entirely more sustainable over a longer period, and the results are that I think there would be less weight regain after the diet is completed. A Protidiet

coach can explain the reasons behind this.

So in summary:
Quality: I would say they are very comparable.
Price: Protidiet

is half the price of Ideal Protein
Service: Protidiet

is only sold in Canada at Licensed Health Professionals, IP

recently copied this.
Experience: Protidiet

is the manufacturer and has been in business for 25 years, Ideal Protein OEM's

from various manufacturers and has been around significantly less in years.
Taste: I found that Protidiet

wins there hands down.
Protocol: Protidiet

can be used as a supplement as well as weight loss system. The Protidiet

protocol is more sustainable with similar results.

... and yes I may be biased as I now sell Protidiet

in our clinic, but then I've given you my reasons, and I find that they are very compelling. Don't believe a word I say - go check it out for youself!

I like to give our patients good value, but not at the cost of quality. So far they are very happy, and we've gained a lot of new clients that heard about us through the grapevine.
