There have been very few fascist governments. All evolved from socialist economic plans by centralized governments. More and more of daily life was forced under central government control. When even sports and diet are government regulated, you have a totalitarian state = fascist. We don't know how long fascist systems can last, since the only nations to try it declared war on the USA and got occupied when they lost.

Communist dictatorships force residents to work for the government, confiscate private property, and insist on government operation of all sectors of the economy. All such efforts have failed miserably.

Communist is left wing. Fascist right.

Both are extremes of governments. Russia used to be Communist which meant that everything was equal and you basically couldn't really be very rich. However fasicist is the complete opposite. The government owns everything.

Fascism is one specific form of totalitarian dictatorship, as opposed to numerous other forms. A dictatorship is any government that derives its right to rule from power rather than people's will, so it can include absolute monarchies, military juntas, warlords, "presidents" who do not hold free and fair elections, communist states, oligarchies, and plutocracies. A totalitarian state is a specific dictatorship where the advent of modern technologies (recording, transport, and communications) allow the government to be effectively intrusive in individuals' lives and enforce laws mechanically and efficiently. Forms of totalitarian dictatorship range from communist states, fascist states, police states or states under martial law, and abrasive theocratic states.

What makes fascism unique among other forms of totalitarian dictatorship is that fascism is a variant of extreme corporatist nationalism headed by an authoritarian leadership and is usually classified as a far-right political theory. It originated in Italy under Mussolini and Hitler's Nazism is a variant of Fascism. Fascist movements shared certain common features, including the veneration of the state, a devotion to a strong leader, and an emphasis on ultra-nationalism and militarism. Fascism views political violence, war, and Imperialism positively and it asserts that stronger nations have the right to expand their territory by displacing weaker nations since the national race was in perpetual conflict with other nations and races. It also argues that corporations should be able to maintain independence from direct government control (in contrast to communism), but that these privately-owned and run corporations should work in tandem with government interests.
