I'm assuming you are referring to Southern California? Northern California's weather is similar to Oregon's.

Southern California, on the other hand, doesn't really get either extreme. The coldest months are around Late December - Mid February. At that time, you usually get low's of 55-60. The hottest months are Early July - Mid Sept, when you get highs of 104-105.

The weather is very dissimiliar to the midwest/east-coast/southern perception of heat though. Due to the very low humidity, instead of feeling muggy, sweaty and tired, it just feels really warm. No bugs trying to get at you or anything. The temp also /feels/ lower due to the low humidity.

it depends where you live in california. it must get pretty damn hot because i live in

northern Pennsylvania and its like 100 degrees every day so.
