A Humanistic Answer

Manner, is defined as a person's outward bearing; way of speaking to and treating others. A humanistic manner is the way in which Humans interact and co-exist socially. This social interaction is best described as an inner battle between two different persona's in each individual psyche. The Ego, and the Higher self. Much like the battle of your conscious (devil shoulder, and Angel shoulder) Each of us has a need for our ego and a need for our higher being.

If you read the book Celestine Prophecy, James Redfield best describes this battle as a consumption of energy. Each of us needs energy to survive, this energy inside us is not usually thought about consciously however our body craves it. Each of us in any situation is trying to steal energy from those around us. You know you just stole energy when you win an argument, or when you prove your better at something than another person, or most commonly when you control another being. This need for energy can drive people to perform the most heinous acts of cruelty.

In South Africa, rebels line up innocent people and force them to draw cards. Each of these cards has the name of a limb on it, Arm, leg, finger, foot, and some are left blank. Each villager draws a card and gets that limb severed, if they draw the blank they are free to leave. This has no purpose, the rebels aren't doing this for a reason. The rebels are removing limbs so they can feel in control, they have that boost of energy you get when you win an argument only amplified. The boost satisfies your ego and your ego only.

The boost you get when you satisfy your true self, happens when you get promoted at your work for all the time you put in, or when you are with your significant other hold each other close, sharing energy.

People feel a lack of energy and seek to gain it by satisfying their ego, this only places a band aid over the wound that isn't really causing you pain. The only real way to satisfy your hunger for energy is to recognize the beauty of everything around you, and to see the good side of people not just the negative side.

In Beijing China during an earthquake, a 2nd grade student was trapped underneath a pile of rubble as a third of his classmates were crushed to death under the weight of the roof. This 2nd grade child crawled out of the building, and then went back several times to save his fellow students life's. When asked why he went back he replied "I am the hall monitor, its my job"

How do you feel now that you heard these two stories? The story of the South African Rebels dismembering innocent people, vs the story of the 2nd grade child saving lives. Which one do you think was broadcast on the News? If you said the child's story you would be wrong. It was broadcast during the Olympics, where the story about South Africa has been on the news for more than 20 years. The news said that death gets higher ratings.

Think of how America would be if we didn't have every other story about horrible deaths, rape, murders, or suicides. Nobody would feel that energy drain you feel when hearing the story, and people wouldn't be starved for energy in turn.

This is just one of the examples of unneeded energy drains humans are setting themselves up for.

Why do drivers feel the need to shout insults at people who are walking by. Why don't they shout compliments? like "your a beautiful being" or "I like your dress". These drive by comments are always insults.

Why do your friends think its funny to make fun of you, call you names in good fun, or whenever you talk about something emotional they call you emo or gay?

It is all a need to steal your energy. and that is just what they are doing.
