Dodge has the strongest diesels because they built the 3500 with a v10.Ford and dodge are almost the same its just doge makes there diesel more fuel efficient and bigger and stronger motor's but I guess its all what u do to the truck and their is one thing ford has on its side that the diesels are cheaper f-250 is about running in the middle of 25876,32456 dollars and a regular dodge diesel with none of the bells andwhisteles it will coast you about 30 to 36 thousand dollars i think dodge is the winner. That is wrong the 7.3 power stroke is the best fords are the best i have no idea of what you are talking about ford is the number 1 selling truck today and it has been for years

The strongest Duramax ever is the 2011 Duramax that will be coming out in Summer of 2010. It produces 397 horsepower and 765 pound feet of torque. But the truck that this 6.6L sits in still can't tow or haul as much as Ford's new 6.7L Powerstroke which produces less power, at 390 horsepower and 735 pound feet of torque.

The Cummins motor is not a "Dodge". Dodge does use the "b" series Cummins engine in its pick up trucks. Ford does use the Cummins in its F650 and larger trucks. NO, Ford never has used the Cummins Diesel as far as I know. Up until 2010 the Powerstroke was built by Navistar, formerly International Harvester. In 2010 Ford starting building the Powerstroke themselves but kept the name. Dodge uses the Cummins diesel and GM uses the Duramax which was designed jointly with isuzu.

It depends on what you're asking they are better about. the Duramax is cheaper to upgrade and has better fuel mileage and stock the Duramax triumphs over the Cummins in torque and horse power. but there is a lot of stuff you can do to them both but the Duramax is all around less expensive. and as to which one lasts longer that can vary, the Duramax has proven to be a very reliable engine but the Cummins also has one heck of a reputation. Cummins= 350hp, 650 ftp of torque Duramax=365hp, 660 ftp of torque

Most people say that Cummins is the best diesel engine but not with the new 6.7L offered in Dodge Ram trucks. The Ford Powerstroke Diesels put out more power than the Cummins by 40 horsepower and 85 pound feet of torque. Also, the new 6.7L Cummins engine has been known to overheat, stall, and the turbos are blowing in them at around 30,000 to 40,000 miles. The Cummins can't idle for more than 6 minutes or it will overheat and shut off and you must take it to the dealer to get the problem fixed. Let's compare. 6.4L Powerstroke diesel does not overheat, does not stall, but there ARE turbo problems with them. But that is no problem with the new 2011 6.7L Powerstroke diesel. As for Duramax, they've always been behind in quality but not power. So I'd say, here in 2010, that Powerstroke is the BEST diesel engine available in a pickup truck.
