The rims should fit on that truck...the only concern would be if they upsized the brake pads from 1998. i have a 98 and had fifteens on it for a while without any problems. the 4.75" backspacing is just a measurement of how far the wheels will stick out...not 4.75 inches, but the difference between that and the factory backspacing. EX: if the backspacing on those rims from the factory are 3" your rims should stick out an additional 1.75 inches. hope this helps ya out! No, the two separate model years you mentioned require a different offset and backspacing from one another. They will not work.
i believe you will need a spacer to offset the wheel

Were they a 'recommended' proper fit for your car. It may be that the wheel 'offset' value is wrong for your vehicle.
