I have a 1998 Subaru legacy 2.5GT and I change my own oil and I believe the specific amount necessary is 4.8 U.S. quarts. Just buy one of the 5qrt jugs of oil sold at your local wal-mart and use the whole thing. It is the best and cheapest way to change the oil.
