Short Answer: Mazda Specialty tool; go figure. Long Answer: I tried every Meteric and Standard socket I own non of them worked. Found a copy of the Mazda Factory Manual Online Its a Specialty Tool.
thermostat is located where the lower hose conects to the engine
the water temp sensor in the earlier NA models are at the coolant neck in front of the engine. it's the plug pointing straight up on the 90-93s.
If your car is left-hand drive, next to your left knee, near the hood release is a small plastic cover. Remove it, and you'll see the plug just above the fuse box.
New plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, even higher grade gas i run premium in mine...it's a 92.
