If you have no spark on the 1991 Subaru Legacy, you should check the spark plugs and spark plug wires for replacement. You should also check the battery and ignition for replacement.

To send a spark the the proper spark plug at the proper time.
Does it turn over? Does it have fuel? Does it have spark?
check the crankshaft and/or camshaft position sensors, if they are not working the ECU will not "see" the engine turning, therefore no need to spark..
The proper spark plug for 4hp Briggs & Stratton is a J8 which I use in all my motors.
The proper gap specification for the spark plugs are ( .039 - .043)
The proper spark plug gap for a 1997 Yamaha YZF600 should be .028 inches. The best spark plugs to use in a YZF600 are copper.
