My positraction is not working and the axle spline seems fragile. I need something stronger. What rear axle assemblies will work in a 1967 GTO?

You should be able to use a 12 bolt. Check your spline count. Standard spline count is 30, you can change the axles to a 35 spline and gain as much as 89% strength. There are many vendors to help you with ordering the right parts. Let them know your use and horse power.

What gear ratio does a 1992 jeep wrangler Sahara have on the rear differential?

There are four ways to find a ratio. 1 A dealer can normally tell from the vin number. 2 There are normally tags or labels on the axle that have part number, gear ratio, and fluid requirement info. 3 You can count how many times you have to turn the driveshaft to get one complete turn of the tires. 4 You can divide the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide by number of teeth on the pinion.

How do you determine gear ratio?

Take the rear end plate off and count the pinion gear teeth, write it down. Now count the ring gear teeth, write it down. Then divide the pinion # into the ring gear # and that will be the gear ratio.

After you count the teeth on the gears in the rear differential how do you figure the gear ratio?

The best way is to count the teeth on the ring gear and divide by the number of teeth on the pinion gear. Or you can count the number of turns of the pinion it takes to get one full turn of the ring gear. For example, if we divide a ring gear with 41 teeth by a pinion gear with 10 teeth we find that the gear ratio is 4.10:1 (41/10 = 4.10).
