No, actually the Goodyears I'm running now say 44 psi is the maximum pressure. When I was running the Dunlops at 29 psi, they wore down on the inner and outer treads, a classic sign of underinflation. I was told by Toyota they recommend the 29 psi so you will get a 'smoother' ride. I figure it's a pickup, not a Cadillac, so I will run the 35 psi as was recommended, and I cannot tell the difference in 'smoothness'. As far as handling, there has also been no difference. As i said before, my tire wear is even now. You may run what the door or manual tells you, but if you notice uneven wear, you may want to adjust the pressure. If inner and outer treads are wearing quicker, tires are underinflated. If middle treads are wearing quicker, they are overinflated. If only one side is wearing quicker, you need an alignment. Toyota recommends 29 psi but I had to replace my factory Dunlops at about 25,000 miles due to excessive wear. With the new tires I was told to run 35 psi and I have not had any problems. The recommended tire pressure is written in the owner's manual and on the driver's door post. If it says 29 psi as the above poster lists then use 29 psi. The figure of 35 psi is the MAXIMUM pressure that should be installed in the tire and is not the recommended pressure. Airing up the tire to 6 pounds above the recommended will adversely effect handling, & ride. If his Dunlops wore out at 25,000 miles it was not due to running the correct pressure of 29 psi. Check the pressure when the tires are cold or you will get an incorrect reading. I do not know the correct pressure for your Toyota because you did not provide enough information. The Toyota Tacoma is built in may configurations, all with different recommendations. There is the standard pickup, Pre Runner, extended cab, 4 door, and of course 4wd. Check the driver's door post to be sure.

See the Tire and Loading Information Placard on the Driver's Door Pillar.....
Can a 225/60R 16 tire replace a 235/70R 16 tire.
30
40 p.S.i.
That would depend on what type of vehicle it is on and where trhe tire is located (front or back) The vehicle will have e the recommended pressure listed in the owners manual and on a label that is normally in the driver door jamb.
the ideal tire pressure is usually printed on the side wall of the tireComment from Asker:But the standard tire size for my vehicle (2006 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 Automatic) is 235 70 R16, which I changed to 225 70 R16. Since the tire size is slightly different than the standard one, I think it may be lower than the printed recommended pressure in car's door (not on the side wall of the tire, because this one shows the max pressure but not the recommended pressure).
225/60 R16
They are 225/60 R16
