It's a 36mm
I just changed the water pump on a 2000 olds bravada, v6 engine. To actually change one you have to take off a lot of components. the fan, the clutch fan assembly, and the serpentine belt. The pulley that makes the fan go, is connected to the water pump. There are two radiator looking hoses connected to the top of the water pump. The best bet if you are going to repair it is to research and read the Haynes manual on it.
the fan clutch is attached to the pump by threads which appear to be left-handed...You will have to secure the pully separate from the thermal clutch and turn clockwise. The use of a 'spanner wrench' is recommended which holds the bolts on the shaft secure so you can use a wrench to loosen the clutch.
Generally if it is a thread on fan clutch, yes.Generally if it is a thread on fan clutch, yes.
you have to have fan clutch wrenches
Remove the fan itself then remove the clutch from the fan
The oil can cause the fan clutch to slip against the fan clutch plate. The slipping will wear out the fan clutch plate.
If it is an electric fan, NO. If it is a mechanical fan test it to see. If you can turn the fan by hand with the engine not running it has a clutch.
how to remove the clutch fan on the 530i bmw
Remove the fan belt, by loosening the tensioner pulley. Remove the fan clutch with the retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new fan clutch.
first you will need to remove the top fan shroud next remove the serpentine belt next remove the fan clutch assemble then remove outer pulley you should have four bolts holding it on after that you will be able to see the water pump you should have four 15mm bolts holding it on remove them and to gaskets then you install the new pump it's easy. The whole job should take less than 1hr
Yes it takes a 36mm wrench and a holder for the pulley to remove the fan clutch,
Check the coolant temp sensor, or just replace it if you have the money to burn.
