Your in luck I just replaced my timing belt on my 1987 b2200.And simply once you install the belt let the belt push the tensioner to where it just rest!Meaning it is fine. This is a technique coming straight from a very oldschool Mazda tech who works locally here in my town.Being this is a sohc engine the specs with the belt maybe 1/2inch to 7/16 from my belt kit (goodyear gatorback) but just installed belt, let it push the tensioner and tightened to the torque setting recommended by chiltons like 27-38 ft lbs (I did mine at about 22).This is more than adequate and have NOT had any issues yet,and did mine in Jan 2010!Basically loosen the tensioner bolt let the belt push the tensioner if it does at all, and then tighten the bolt and torque. This tech has worked on mazdas for years and said this is pretty much what they do with this engine being a single over head cam and is very effective and safe for it.Hope this helps and not way confusing with all the extra info to explain the reasoning.

All mazda b series with a b2000 or b2200 are a NON interference engine. So in short if your timing belt broke it will not damage the engine.
behind the radiator,in the middle of the engine
A 1995 KIA Sportage 2.0L 16v DOHC will bolt right into the B2000 and the B2200. You will have to get a system called megasquirt from www.diyautotune.com Your Horse Power will be almost double that of the B2200 2.2L SOHC
The front dash speakers in the 89 Mazda b series pickup trucks are 4".

My 89 B2200 does this. Its like there is a dead spot in the acceleration. It is because the accelerator pump is leaking.
