The Soviet & Chicom (Chinese Communist) SKS was a Vietnam War carbine used by the North Viet/VC communist forces. It was replaced later by the AK47. To obtain a value check the "Blue Book" on firearms. Or go to a SKS website.
Note: The SKS (and the K54 pistol) was the ONLY enemy rifle that could be legally brought home by GIs in the Vietnam War as a war souvenir. Captured US firearms or fully automatic firearms could not be brought home.
I paid $100 for mine and it was factory new..This is why the SKS is known as the poor mans deer rifle as a 30 - 30 cost a lot more as the SKS is great rifle for its intended use which I use for plinking BUT not as a status firearm as so many millions are at there
100-500 or so
type 56 sks
100-1000 USD depending on specifics
100-1000 USD or so depending on specifics
Going to depend on a few variables. If it is actually a Russian-made SKS, such as Tula Arsenal, and not a Chinese or other country's copy; if it has importer marks (such as CAI for Century Arms); if all the serial numbers match; and condition. Depending on these variables a true Russian SKS can bring $250-$450. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Value of ANY gun is based on exact make, model, and condition. A well worn Yugo SKS may be $150, while a pristine Russian SKS is $500. An average Chinese SKS is around $250-$275.
bought mine last year for $135
5000-10000 usd
Priceless, since a true SKS assault rifle would be a prototype only most likely. The SKS fires semi-automatically and does not have provision for full auto fire. If you have a normal run of the mill Chinese SKS it is worth 100-400 or so depenidng on condition, box, accessories, etc..
Very similar, minor differences,
In the vicinity of $200 for a basic Type 56 carbine, up to $500 - $600 for some of the more 'exotic' models, like the paratrooper carbine, and detachable magazine SKS D and SKS M rifles.
The Chinese manufactured several variants of the SKS. Depending on specifics, you may looking at anywhere from $200 - $600+. Paratrooper models and the detachable magazine SKS-M and SKS-D fetch much higher prices than a standard Type 56 carbine.
$125.00 to $225.00 condition and matching numbers on the parts has an effect on price .
The SKS isn't an assault rifle, either by the BATFE's definition, or by the actual definition. Value is going to be dependent on exact model - the Chinese made several variations of the SKS. Depnding om condition, with the missing magazine (not clip), and assuming you have the basic Type 56 carbine in good working order, you could expect between $120 - $200 for it.
Depending on condition, Chinese SKS carbines currently run $200-$300. Carbine selling for $500 New Zealand dollars at the moment
Up to 10 years in prison. The only country still manufacturing the SKS is China, and they were prohibited from firearms imports in 93 under the Clinton administration, so a Chinese SKS in this country is at least 21 years old.
They began production of the Type 56 carbine (the Chinese designation for the SKS) in 1956, and production (for the civil market) continues to the present day.
