These answers by mechanics about dead batteries are amazing me. I am a girl...really into cars because I have had a few. I just had this problem in my 1989 classic Saab. The problem is your starter...The clicking sound means that the pin inside of the starter is not projecting itself and thats why when you turn your key you hear a clicking. Get your starter tested
If a truck makes a clicking sound and won't start, the battery maybe dead. The battery should be charged with jumper cables and another vehicle.
This indicates that your battery is very low or dead. Clean your battery terminals and try again...if it is the same, you need a jump or replace your battery.
it means ur truck wont turn over ur battery may be dead or u might need a new altanator
Your battery might be dead. Or you may have a faulty starter relay switch
It could be,
a dead battery,
loose or dirty battery connections,
a faulty starter,
Bad solenoid, or bad ign switch.
your starter motor is stuck.
Check your battery, it might be dead.
crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer
assuming the battery and cables are good and connected....check the ignition switch..:)
please answer my question. Ford truck 1999 V8 4.6 L does not start of park but in neutral sometimes Why.
Remove and replace the starter.
It could be a bad starter or a bad solenoid.... If you turn the key, but motor will not turn, listen for clicking... if it clicks, possibly bad starter. best option would be to beg steal or borrow a voltmeter and measure voltage at starter motor when key is turned......
Could be bad glow plugs.
the clicking, when first starting, could be either the starter getting bad or the cylinoid. the sluggishness when it finally starts can be a couple things. clogged fuel filter, or could need a tune up. maybe next fill-up put some fuel injector cleaner in your tank.
Look for a loose or corroded battery cable connection or a faulty starter solenoid/relay switch.
Weak battery or bad starter solenoid. Possibly a bad battery cable or corroded connection.
bad ground
odds are the sensor needs to be replaced
crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer
try a fuel filter change first
Car is another word for truck that starts with a "c".
becoz loaded truck has got more weight than the empty truck.....so becoz of which loaded truck has got more friction in tyres compared to empty truck...this may the reason why loaded truck starts slow than the empty truck
Buy you saying it then catches and starts makes it sounds more like a bad starter solinoid.
do the bolts on a 1990 pickup truck go in vertical or horizontal
