Euro is the official currency of Eurozone. Eurozone comprises of eighteen of the twenty eight European union member countries. The remaining ten countries have not adopted Euro. These non members countries of Euro zone are Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, UK, Poland, Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic and Hungary.

The currency of the European Union is the Euro. All members of the EU are required to adopt the currency when able to do so efficiently. Only two countries have official opt-outs on adopting the Euro (Denmark and the United Kingdom), where they are not required to do so. Denmark has been edging more towards adopting the Euro (as it is also a member of the ERM II), however, British oppression against the Euro is higher than ever. Sweden has an unofficial opt-out on adopting the Euro, as the currency was rejected in a referendum and Sweden has yet to join the ERM II.
Currently, seventeen out of twenty-seven members of the EU use the Euro in addition to six non-EU members. The Eurozone will not enlarge until 2014, when the currency will be adopted by Latvia. The Euro will also be adopted by Romania in 2015. Bulgaria, Poland, and Romania are all expected to join the ERM II in 2013, with the Czech Republic sometime during or after 2014. As mentioned, Denmark is a member of the ERM II and a referendum on the Euro is expected to be held after September 2015. Lithuania, a neighboring country of Latvia, has expressed its goal of adopting the Euro by 2015 as well.
The European Union's main currency is the Euro. All member states have adopted the Euro except for Great Britain and Denmark.
The euro is the current Italian currency. Italy is a member of the European Union. Use of the euro isn't a requirement of EU membership. For example, Sweden is an EU member that doesn't use the euro. Italy is an example of an EU member that does.
Barcelona is one of Spain's major cities and as Spain is a member of the EU, Barcelona's currency is the Euro.
Since Mallorca is part of Spain which is a member of the European Union (EU), its currency is Euro.
If EU represent EURO currency, the advantage is that in Europe many countries have adopted EU for transactions. Tourists and travellors need not exchange currency.
Even though the U.K is a member of the EU (european union) it has choesn to keep its usual currency the pound instead of converting to euro.
